By submitting any document or personal information to ManuscriptLab, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy in full. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, you must not use our services.
1. Acceptance of This Policy
Your use of ManuscriptLab’s services constitutes your unconditional acceptance of this Privacy Policy. ManuscriptLab reserves the right to amend this policy at any time without prior notice. It is your sole responsibility to review this page periodically for changes. Continued use of our services following any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
2. Information Collected
ManuscriptLab collects only the information you voluntarily provide, which may include your name, email address, contact number, and any document submitted for editing. This information is collected solely to fulfil the specific service you have requested.
ManuscriptLab does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of any information or documents you provide. You are solely and entirely responsible for ensuring that all submitted materials are accurate, lawful, and rightfully yours to share.
3. Immediate and Permanent Deletion of Data
ManuscriptLab permanently and irreversibly deletes all manuscript files and associated personal data immediately upon delivery of the completed order. No copies, backups, archives, or records of your documents or personal information are retained by ManuscriptLab following delivery under any circumstances.
Because all data is deleted immediately upon delivery, ManuscriptLab is entirely unable to retrieve, reproduce, re-send, or act upon any files or information after the order is complete. It is your sole and exclusive responsibility to safely store and back up all materials delivered to you. ManuscriptLab accepts no liability whatsoever for any loss arising from your failure to do so.
4. No Responsibility for Events After Delivery
ManuscriptLab’s responsibility with respect to your data ends at the point of delivery of your completed order. Once your document has been delivered, ManuscriptLab bears absolutely no responsibility for how you handle, store, share, transmit, or use that document, or for any consequences arising from those actions.
ManuscriptLab accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any data-related event, breach, disclosure, loss, or harm that occurs at any point during or after the publication process, including during journal submission, peer review, editorial handling, or any other stage that occurs after delivery of our services.
5. No Responsibility for Third Parties
ManuscriptLab exercises no control over, and accepts absolutely no responsibility for, the privacy practices, data security, or conduct of any third party, including but not limited to journals, publishers, universities, funding bodies, peer reviewers, payment processors, or any other platform or individual.
Any data shared with or accessible to third parties as a result of your own actions — including submission to journals or use of external tools — is entirely outside ManuscriptLab’s responsibility. We make no representations regarding the data practices of any third party.
6. No Responsibility for Breaches Beyond Our Control
ManuscriptLab shall not be held liable for any data breach, unauthorised access, interception, loss, alteration, or disclosure of information that results from circumstances outside our direct and reasonable control, including but not limited to cyberattacks, hacking, malware, network failures, force majeure events, third-party system failures, or actions taken by the client.
As all data is deleted immediately upon delivery, ManuscriptLab’s exposure to data-related risk is strictly confined to the active period of your order only.
7. Client Obligations
- You are the rightful owner of, or are otherwise fully authorised to submit, the document
- The document does not contain material you are legally or contractually prohibited from sharing
- You have obtained all necessary consents where the document contains personal data of third parties
- You accept full and sole responsibility for all consequences arising from the content of the document you submit
- You indemnify ManuscriptLab against any claim, loss, or liability arising from a breach of these representations
8. Confidentiality — Limited Scope
ManuscriptLab treats submitted documents as confidential during the active period of your order. This obligation does not apply to information that is or becomes publicly available through no fault of ManuscriptLab, information independently known to us prior to your submission, or information we are required to disclose under applicable law or by a competent authority.
ManuscriptLab shall not be held responsible for any alleged breach of confidentiality arising from circumstances outside our control or from information that does not qualify as legally confidential under applicable law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ManuscriptLab’s total aggregate liability in connection with any privacy or data-related claim shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the client for the specific order in question. ManuscriptLab shall not under any circumstances be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of reputation, or any other loss of any kind, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
